Mobile Library Kunthi 2008
Although the Indonesian Government has put illiteracy abolition and compulsory education programs into realization, however up to this moment the program has yet to be of successful one given the fact that many people who live in the villages mostly come from the under poverty families and belong to the lowest class in society. With regards to this, many of them are not able to pursue higher education. In order to develop their reading interest, enthusiasm as well as to broaden their knowledge, we are in the opinion that they are in the need of books. Yet, given the low purchasing power, they are not able to afford purchasing books. One of the solutions is to provide them with a unit of “Mobile Library” which could serve their need of books in the remote areas. With the existence of books, thus people from the said areas could enjoy reading books for free.
NEW WATER PROJECT
Desa Suka Makmur Village, consists of 7 kampongs, spreading over the slope of Salak Mountain (about 300 m above sea level). It has 622 households. It is situated at the other side of the two villages that have been covered by the last Clean Water Project via MG 65550. The people there must also be struggling to obtain water for their daily life from a small , dirty, river nearby and/or from rice fields which are far from hygienic standard, while water sources are usually far higher at the mountain and difficult to be reached. The provision of clean water will certainly improve their basic- and social life quality. In better health, they will be more productive. There is also a significant lowering in child mortality.
The project can be completed in 120 working days.

The Indonesian villages used to have one water man, namely Ulu-ulu. He is appointed to manage water source and distribution, especially for rice fields. This person, or another one newly appointed by the villagers, will look after the water system once it is handed over to the village, after being trained by our member, Rt.Taufik Nugraha. Upon an agreement among them, they will collect money from every household as monthly abonnement. The money will be used for the maintainance and repair of the water system. The Rotary Club Bogor commit themselve to monitor, on a regular timebase, the maintenance of this project.

RC Bali Kuta - Spectacles project
In the efforts to stimulate high school children to improve their education, students have to absorb maximum teaching given at school, students must be able to clearly see and read the lessons written by teachers on the black/white-board from their seats. As well as, read the computer monitor with no problem. Many smart and talented high school children from the minority society (such as farmers, labors, fishermen, traditional market traders, etc) have bad eyesight due to less nutritious food that they consumed since their early life. Meanwhile, their parents’ incomes are unfortunately sufficient only to buy simple meals for the family. They don’t have extras for a considered luxurious apparatus such as spectacles.

The Rotary Clubs will help these students by providing free spectacles for short sighted and reading glasses. So students will be able to compete and improve their ranks in the class
