Hoeksche Waard – First week:

The last time we organized a Summertour was in 2004. It was a great success.

The Hoeksche Waard is an island with several villages with a total of 80.000 inhabitants . The Hoeksche Waard lies south of Rotterdam. Even though we are only 20 km from Rotterdam, the Hoeksche Waard is green and peaceful.

Because the Hoeksche Waard is an island (and we live below sea level!), there is a lot of water surrounding us. Part of our program will have to do with water and our struggle against the sea.

Our program will contain a lot of different elements.

Some elements: a visit to the Delta Works, a visit to Rotterdam, sailing with luxury yachts, swimming, etc. Because of these elements it is necessary to be able to swim. There also will be plenty of time for shopping and relaxing.

We hope to meet you!

Cuijk - Second week

Rotarian Cuijk homestay (the first two days, making daytrips to fun parks and a monument) and then five days of sailing experience.

All activities will be assisted by rotarian members or sailing assistants.

The sailing experience start in the northern part of the Netherlands on the sailing ship “Admiraal van Kinsbergen”.

This ship is equipped with all sailing attributes and also a fuel driven motor to help out without wind.

The ship is also equipped with 15 two person sleeping cabinets for the guests.

For breakfast, lunch and dinner there is a convenient kitchen (kombuis) and a luxuoury dining room.

During the sailing experience, along the coast of the lake Ijssel, several cities will be visited for musea and other cultural or educational viewpoints.

There will be organised some visits to cities for fun (shopping and otherwise) at some relaxing moments.

There will be a barbecue and farewell party at the closing of this meeting between international cultures.
