Canoeing at canal, Waterskiing, Castle”Huis Bergh” Dinxperlo, Border with Germany

You will spent the first week in the eastern part of Holland, in “de Achterhoek”, a region with forest, castles, rivers, beautiful little villages and some lakes for water recreation.

It is a part of our country where life is still at an easy pace, don’t worry, be happy, enjoy the friendly people and the beautiful surroundings and relax.

Our region is next to the German border and so there are many contacts here between Holland and Germany. That’s why we decided to make the theme of this stay: crossing borders.

You will discover the rural area by bike and by boat, by day and by night. There are many musea about the past and about culture, the German “Ruhrgebiet” is the EU cultural capital of 2010 and definitely worth a visit.

You will stay with two or three at host families in the region, all rotary members. There will be time for social interaction in the group and make new friends. There will be time to learn all about Dutch and something about German culture, way of live and traditions.
