Program: Freedom for Ukraine
February 24 marked two years since Russia invaded Ukraine. We have all seen in the media how much destruction and suffering this has caused and continues to cause today. We have all also seen how Ukrainians defend their country, culture and democracy tooth and nail and how impressive their resilience is.
But we are also hearing more and more how hard life is in Ukraine and how many people, including children, have been killed, injured and traumatized. The need is great and it is urgent to send humanitarian aid such as ambulances, medical supplies and aid to children.
On March 23 there will be a benefit evening for Ukraine in the Nieuwe Kerk in The Hague with a wonderful program entitled 'Charity Evening of Hope'. The proceeds of the evening will be divided equally between the renowned organizations 'Stichting Breath Oekraïne’ and 'Zeilen van Vrijheid’, which have already sent an impressive amount of humanitarian and medical aid to Ukraine. Our goal is to raise enough money this evening so both organizations can purchase an ambulance. Together we can certainly achieve this!
This evening you can enjoy delicious and authentic Ukrainian dishes, there will be an auction of beautiful Ukrainian works of art and a top program with music and dance. The stage will include the renowned pianist Anna Federova with Chopin's 2nd Symphony and dancers from the United Ukrainian Ballet Company with the impressive choreography 'Soul Vibrations' (Volkskrant 4 stars).
This evening you will show the best of Ukrainian art and culture and also show that you stand in solidarity with the courageous and resilient Ukrainians and support them in these difficult times. The theme of the evening is 'hope' because that is what you contribute to by purchasing a ticket, you support more than just humanitarian aid. You also send a ray of hope and that is important, if not essential, for Ukraine's resilience.
