Help Ukraine: Kyiv Chamber Ensemble – Charity Concert

Since the invasion at the end of February 2022, 46,000 deaths and 13,000 injuries have been recorded, with at least 15 million people being displaced. The war is still ongoing and RCUI wants to help the people affected the worst from this war by organizing a fundraising charity concert by the Kyiv Chamber Ensemble.

The Kyiv Chamber Ensemble is part of the National Organ and Music Hall of Ukraine and is one of the most renowned ensembles of Ukraine. At the moment, they perform charity concerts in the Netherlands to collect money for projects that directly support the civilian population in Ukraine. Rotary Club Utrecht International organizes this concert in cooperation with the Friends of the Domkerk Utrecht.

Members of the ensemble will perform a program with compositions from the Ukrainian composers Valentyn Sylvestrov (born 1937) and Vasyl Barvinsky (1888 – 1963), as well as a composition of César Franck (1822 – 1890). They will present a varied program for piano trio, string quartet and piano quintet.

The proceeds from the tickets and any additional donations will be used for buying medical equipment for the neurosurgical department of Kyiv Ambulatory Hospital, where neurosurgical operations of wounded soldiers and civilians are carried out. For this goal RC Utrecht International works with RC Warszawa-Konstancin, Poland, who is in direct contact with the hospital in Kyiv.
